Synopsis and Marine Forecast links updated by the NWS 408 AM EDT Thu Aug 5 2021
Weak low pressure over the northeast Gulf moving along a stalled frontal boundary draped across the northern Gulf coast and the northern Florida peninsula combined with high pressure to the south will support an uptick in southwest winds into the 15 to 20 knot range over the central and northern near and offshore waters today. Across the southern waters south to southwest winds around 10 knots can be expected, with higher gusts near storms. During Friday and into the weekend the surface ridge axis will lift north which will allow winds to back to the south on Friday, then backing further to the southeast during the weekend and east southeast into early next week.
